About Nifty Buckles Folklore

Born in Kingston and raised in Belleville, Ontario, I grew up surrounded by storytellers and adventurers.

My love for books reading poetry began at age four, when I would skip to our local library just half a block from home.

My childhood was filled with camping under the stars and exploring the Atlantic coast, fueling my passion for words, art, and dance. I even played in Belleville's Theatre Guild in the Oliver Twist production and sang in the junior choir at Eastminster United Church.

I’ve worked as a preschool teacher for children, including those with hearing impairments, creating joyful, musical circles. I share my life with Mr. Skittles, a spirited mini weiner dog with striking eyes.

Now, as my children are grown, I carry the memory of my second son, Scotty, whose spirit inspires my storytelling with tenderness and fire.

I spend my days writing Folklore, poems, fairy tales and fiction. driven by a quiet desire to ignite that hidden flame in every soul—leaving a whisper of legacy that resonates beyond the years.
